Making her public debut in March this year, the first vessel in the new Horizon Yachts fast displacement (FD) series not only sets the standard with her contemporary exterior design but also with her unique interior layout. The Horizon FD85 offers 25% more hull volume than other vessels in the 24m rule (CE classification).

The FD85 will accommodate up to ten guests in the full-beam master stateroom on the main deck and the four double staterooms on the lower deck. The massive beam (width) of the vessel’s design is carried a long way forward thus adding extra interior volume that gives more flexibility in the layout options.

This ground breaking luxury yacht design offers a host of contemporary features such as the floor-to-ceiling glass windows which allow a huge amount of natural light to flood into the main salon, formal dining room and master stateroom.

The Horizon FD85 offers 25% more space compared to other vessels in its class. 

The FD85 incorporates a raised pilothouse and flybridge entertainer’s paradise with jacuzzi on the upper levels.

This collaboration between Horizon Yachts and the Dutch design studio Cor D. Rover has produced a stunning motor yacht that is able to “achieve flexible cruise speeds without compromising performance”.

In a company press release, John Lu, Horizon Yachts CEO, said, “Cor and his team were the perfect fit for collaborating with Horizon’s in-house teams, and together we have developed an advanced fast displacement yacht that blends cutting-edge design with truly usable living and entertaining spaces comparable to most 100-foot plus yachts.”

The beam of the Horizon FD85 gives extra space for outdoor living areas that you would normally only find on vessels in the 120ft range. The undercover aft deck allows for large furniture pieces that create the perfect area for relaxation and dining whilst the upper boat deck transforms into a sun drenched pool bar adjacent to the flybridge helm.

The first Horizon FD85 was sold subsequent to her debut with a second vessel already in the water and construction underway on a third. According to Cor D. Rover, plans for a “smaller sister model called the Horizon FD65 are already under development.”
